Adding shelf life to Sunday conent

One of my assignments when I became Sunday news breaking news editor was to figure how to expand the reach of our Sunday content. Anyone who was worked for a newspaper knows Sunday papers have the best content, but it’s often the lowest day of the week for website traffic.

While better management of our homepage, an increased presence on social media and faster responses to breaking news are improving our Sunday traffic, there are still people missing these stories.

I decided to find a new way to highlight our Sunday content on Mondays.

I built a RebelMouse page that I manually update each Sunday to highlight the best content. We feature the page in a promo spot on our website all day Monday.

Initial results are good and it’s working to drive people back to Sunday’s best stories.
